Authentic – Esther

Meaning: Genuine, Real. Being a true version of yourself

Text: Philippians 4:8 (Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.)

 

Brave – David. Deborah

Meaning: A quality of spirit that enables you to face danger of pain without showing fear.

Text: Proverbs 28:1 (The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.)

 

Compassionate Good Samaritan

Meaning: Deep empathy for the suffering of others. Compassion flows freely when we let go of judgments

Text: Lamentations 3:22 (It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.)

 

Diligent – Daniel

Meaning: Doing what needs to be done with care, concentration and single-pointed attention, giving our absolute best.

Text: Proverbs 22:29 (Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.)

 

Endurance – Joseph

Meaning: Practicing perseverance and patience when obstacles arise that test our character and educates our souls. We welcome all that we are here to learn from the situation.

Text: Proverbs 24:10 (If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.)

 

Faithful – Joseph of Arimathea

Meaning: Loyalty to our beliefs, regardless of what happens. Being true to the people we love.

Text: Proverbs 20:6 (Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?)

 

Generous – Widow of Zarephath

Meanng: Giving fully, sharing freely. Trust that there is plenty for everyone. Giving or ready to give freely, free from meanness or prejudice.

Text: Proverbs 11:25 (The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.)

 

Humble – Jesus

Meaning: Modest; not arrogant or boastful. Being thankful for our gifts instead of boastful.

Text: Proverbs 11:2 (When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.)

 

Integrity – Job

Meaning: Standing on moral high ground. Keeping faith with our ideals and our agreements.

Text: Proverbs 20:7 (The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.)

 

Joyful – David

Meaning: An inner wellspring of peace and happiness. Enjoying the richness of life. Finding humor, even in the midst of hard times.

Text: Psalms 100:1-2 (Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.)

 

Kind – Rahab

Meaning: Showing compassion. Giving tender attention in ways that brings others happiness. Friendly, helpful, well meaning.

Text: Ephesians 4:32 (And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.)

 

Loving – Jesus

Meaning: A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.

Text: John 3:16 (For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.)

 

Merciful – God

Meaning: Blessing others with our compassion and forgiveness. Extending our tenderness beyond what is just or deserved. Appeared so many times in the Bible

Text: 1 Chronicles 16:34 (O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.)

 

Noble – Urial (Soldier David Killed)

Meaning: Having high moral standards. Doing the right thing. Keeping faith with our true value as spiritual beings.

Text: Acts 17:11 (These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.)

 

Obedient – Abraham

Meaning: Following what we know is right. Compliance with the law

Text: Ephesians 6:1 (Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. …)

 

Patient – Abraham

Meaning: The ability to endure delay, trouble, pain or hardship.

Text: Romans 1:2-8 (My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. …)

 

Quiet – Jesus before Pilate

Meaning: Free from noise and trouble, being wholly at ease, rest all around

Text: Proverbs 17:1  (Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.)

 

Reliable – Ruth

Meaning: Being dependable. Being a promise keeper.

Meaning: Doing helpful things that make a difference to others

Meaning: Having a discerning mind, based on experience and mindfulness

Meaning: Giving our best to any task we do and any relationship we have

Text: Daniel 6:3a (Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him)

Meaning: young or seeming young

Text: Matthew 18:3 (And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven)

Meaning: Fervent enthusiasm for what we believe to be important
